Storm Community Hockey
The Community division is the largest division within South Delta Minor Hockey.
Under the leadership of Director of Hockey, Lawson “Boots” Boutilier, the community division offers a high-quality program for players to continue to develop their hockey skills.
At the beginning of September, players are evaluated over the course of 3-4 ice times. After the evaluation is complete, the head coaches and their assistant coach, along with the division manager and director, will work together to create evenly balanced teams.
During the season, the teams will compete in the Pacific Coast Amateur Hockey League (PCAHA), within the Fraser Valley West league. A typical season within PCAHA consists of 5 tiering games, 10 League games (top team in each tier win the league banner) and 5 playoff games (top team in each tier win a banner).
U11-U18 teams will play one game a week and have 1-2 practices per week. Depending on the number of teams in each division, they will either have shared practices or full ice practices. For the U21 division, teams will play an average of one game per week, typically rotating between a home and away game.
All U11 and U13 teams also receive additional skill training throughout the season.
We also offer training for our goalies throughout the season.
Additionally, all of our Community teams take part in the “Ken Elmer Memorial Tournament presented by Dueck” over the Family Day weekend.
